Pori Moni Recent Story
A garment factory owner who was present at the Dhaka Boat Club around midnight on June 9 had been involved in inciting the incident centring actor Pori Moni, Detective Branch officials said yesterday.
A DB investigator said they are now looking for the garments trader, but did not disclose the name of the businessman for the sake of investigation.
The detectives on Monday arrested businessman and former president of Uttara Club Limited Nasir Uddin Mahmud and another businessman Tuhin Siddique Omi from a house in Uttara-1 after the actor filed a case against them and four others over attempting to rape and murder her.
Three women were also arrested during the raid. The DB team also recovered local and foreign alcohol and 1,000 yaba tablets.
Nasir and Omi are now being interrogated in remand in a case filed against them and the three women under the narcotics control act with the Airport Police Station by DB Sub-inspector Manik Kumar Shikder.
According to the case statement filed by Pori Moni, Nasir physically assaulted her, forced a liquor bottle to her mouth to make her drink and tried to rape her with the assistance of Omi and four unidentified persons.
After his arrest on Monday, Nasir -- also a presidium member of Jatiya Party -- claimed that he was framed.
